A Message from the President
At
RAS, we care very much for the health and environment of all
generations and we are glad to know that there are many
like-minded people like you who take pride in sharing this common
responsibility. The past three months were an obvious reflection of
it as it marked many firsts for RAS.
One of the highlights is the launch of the Happy
Toilet School Education Programme for Preschools
(HTSEP). Following the success of the Happy Toilet School
Education Programme (for primary and secondary schools), the
HTSEP was specially crafted to cater to these preschoolers are they
are especially vulnerable to germs and viruses. Our pilot project
with Gloryland Learning Centre and official programme launch with
PCF Sembawang proved the HTSEP to be successful in inculcating our
young ones with proper restroom education and we are very heartened
by the efforts of all who have enabled this to happen.
We also conducted our first talk Restroom Education
Talk to a tertiary institution- Macpherson ITE and an elderly care
centre - My Centre @ Moulmein. With light-hearted contents to tackle
the “toilet topic” in a tongue-in-cheek manner, both the young and
old gradually warmed up and were soon participating actively in the
talk.
Indeed, this has always been what RAS aims to
achieve- to reach out to all Singaporeans regardless of their age as
toilet is an issue that concerns all of us. With more people being
concerned about local toilet issues, we can all work together
towards our shared vision of having clean toilets for everyone!
Do feel free to give us your feedback about how we
can continue to improve Singapore’s public toilets via SMS to 9770-
LOOS or email to mysay@toilet.org!
